Here, a damn guide on how to use vent:
1. Download and install Ventrilo:
2. Click on the -> symbol next to User Name to create a new account:
3. Click on the "New" button. A box will come up, enter your name and click OK. You can choose to fill in the Phonetic box if you wish, just enter what your name sounds like. Mine is Col.Mustard so I entered colonel mustard:
4. Now click on the -> symbol next to Server. A new window will come up, click the "New" button. Name the server anything you want, I just named mine |MM|. Fill in the "Hostname or IP" and "Port" box as shown below. Leave the password blank, only admins need this. Click OK once you have filled in the information.
5. Click "Connect" on the main Ventrilo window, you will be connected to |MM| Vent. Yay.

6. Click on the Setup button and you can mess with different settings such as Hotkey(the key you push to talk) or Inbound(Speaker) and Outbound(Microphone) volume. If you wish to have a voice activated microphone, simply uncheck the "Use Push To Talk Hotkey" box in Setup. I recommend turning Inbound volume up to 5 so you can hear everyone clearly.
Now you're done! Enjoy.

IP/Hostname: vent7.gameservers.com
Port: 4369
No password.

Ye ,
Andrews needs major vent repairs or something.
He keeps on turning around in game saying "WTF er u tooking aboot"......I says "Take the potatoes outta yer ears lad" as my voice stream reaches him 2 mins later.
connection has some big time burps of late. Really kinda Funny but can get annoying when trying to Pwn. |
